Obituary of Jeanne Gilmour

Tracy City, Tennessee – Mrs. Jeanne C Gilmour, 95, passed away Friday May 19, 2023, at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, Tennessee. She was born in Washington, DC on October 3, 1927, to James and Helen Faris who preceded her in death along with her husband, Kenneth Gilmour; brother, Jim Faris; infant grandson, Andrew Gilmour.

She was a graduate of Gettysburg College and a member of the United Methodist Church at Cape Saint Claire, in Annapolis, Maryland. She shared her love of music with many throughout her lifetime, singing with the Gettysburg College choir, “Con Viva” Madrigals, and serving as a youth choir director at Grace Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed painting and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Jim (Sue) Gilmour, Upper Marlboro, Maryland; daughters, Lin (Tom) Raaf, Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Carolyn (Rick) Wilson, Tracy City, Tennessee and Beth Gilmour (Damian Buchholz), Salida, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday June 8, 2023, at Cedar Hill in Suitland, Maryland
